Rich dad knew that financial education was the answer to his financial problems: "It's not how much money you make that's important – it's how much money you keep and how long you keep it."

A Poem For RD by Joanne

A Poem For RD
by Joanne

At first I thought t'was only infatuation...
But now drifted---a growing fascination...
what life it could be to be
with the person God gave for me
In one
Two
or
Three
My life would turn with glee...
Because now I have the most wonderful person in my life
And
His
Name
is
RD

Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,And splinters,And boards torn up,And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
So, boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps.
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now—
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

Live...

I live...
I loved.
I laughed.
I lost.
I cried.
I survived.

Life

I may never see tomorrow,
there's no written guarantee
And things that happened yesterday
belong to history.

I cannot predict the future,
I cannot change the past,
I have just the present moments,
I must treat it as my last.

I must use this moment wisely
for it soon will pass away,
and be lost forever, as part of yesterday.
I must exercise compassion,
help the fallen to their feet,
Be a friend unto the friendless,
make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today
may never be undone,
And friendships that I fail to win
may nevermore be won.
I may not have another chance
on bended knees to pray,
but I thank God with a humble heart
for giving me this Day.

Life Is Like a River

Let it carry you,
not knowing where
it will take you,
and you will journey
to amazing places;

Or, stay on the shore,
knowing for sure
where you will be,
and you will go nowhere

wasted voices...

don't say it -
your silence;
it deafens me;
it shatters the sense;
it laughs out
sick thoughts;
wanton, obsessed.

to say it loud -
this silence;
digs a grave
where foot rests
but not the other -
it bonds to ground
curses the unwarm.

to speak, to quote -
the nothingness, the void
portrayed by mouth;
why glance to see
what shakens a heart;
all that mind collects
which lives, yet unheard.

the pitch, how low
when silence sings -
murmurs, whispers;
you must dwell awhile
to capture its essence
yet you stay not still
to retire - what waste!

to hear it mumble
when it sprouts then;
restless, yet unfulfilled
my silence knocks -
disclose on me, a plea
but you sleep, o forbid!
you shan't hear me yet...
